ML-Based Electronic Scarecrow
A YOLOv8 model trained on a custom bird dataset runs fully offline on a Raspberry Pi 4 and triggers servo and sound deterrents in random patterns. 98% detection accuracy. My BSc thesis.
Three-Phase Automatic Changeover Switch
Automatic transfer between grid (ECG) and generator power using contactors, relays and timers. Published in the Ashesi SEED journal.
Cooperative Spectrum Sensing
Cooperative sensing algorithms for cognitive radio in MATLAB and Python, with simulations of channel detection accuracy.
Pulse Code Modulation Analysis
Simulated sampling, quantization and encoding in MATLAB and Simulink, measured their effect on signal fidelity, and recommended bit depths.
Rectifier & Buck Converter
Converted 230 Vrms AC to a stable 48 V DC supply. The unregulated stage reached 91% efficiency.
Microgrid Design & Control
Studied hierarchical control architectures and the challenges of adding renewable sources to microgrids.
Optical Heart-Rate Monitor
IR LED and photodiode sensing with analog filtering, amplification and Arduino processing, measuring 68–180 bpm.
CNN for Options Trading
A TensorFlow CNN that predicts option outcomes from financial ratios, tuned layer by layer for accuracy.
q-Gradient Optimization
Jackson's derivative applied to gradient search for global optimization, compared against genetic algorithms.
7-Segment Digital Clock
A working digital clock built from 7-segment display logic, counters and multiplexers.
Ventures
HETUS Engineering Limited
Co-Founder & Director · Sunyani · Sep 2024 – present
A renewable energy and engineering company founded by Aishetu Abdul Razak. Our work includes solar installations with hands-on training in the Upper East and Bono East Regions alongside the Office of International Comparative Labor Studies at Morehouse College, research on dye-sensitized solar cells made from local materials, and the Yamfo STEM Education Project, supported by the Coca-Cola Fund for Education.

Many Ghanaian graduates need the GRE or similar exams to study abroad, but full-length practice tests are scarce and expensive. National Service Personnel earn GH₵799 a month. We are building a platform with exam-style tests and clear score reports for about GH₵100 a month. Now in internal testing.
Community
NPath Foundation
Founder · 2023 – present
We mentor bright students from rural Ahafo through exams, scholarships and university applications. One of our students, who faced pressure to marry after school, now studies Economics at Ashesi on a full Mastercard Foundation scholarship. Two others have also gained admission.
STEM for All
Technical Volunteer
I help assemble the STEM kits that go out to schools, so students can learn by building.
